My Classroom for 2014-15

I'm exhausted, but my room is 98% done :)  Welcome to my classroom.  I hope you enjoy it!

The view as you enter my classroom:
I really love this quote for my doorway.  I stole it from Rachel last summer and I just love how it turned out!

From the doorway, on the right:
Here you can see the calendar, my hall pass, my absentee folder, and my brand new agenda board.  I totally love the new font that I went with (KG This Last Time)

Moving on into the room, along the back wall:
These are the double doors that open into the science lab next door.  The stoplight poster is from last summer, but the Parking Lot was my door prize at AVID Summer Institute.  I did add the yellow label at the top though!

The last part of the back wall...
Notice that my bulletin board is no longer blank!  Our school theme this year is #IBelieve, so I created twitter strips for kids to "tweet" their #IBelieve statements.  You can also see two of my posters for the first day data gathering.

The back corner...
This is the student corner.  You can see the turn in baskets, the whiteboard erasers, and student supplies.  Two things to point out here.. first, my brand new pencil sharpener (It's really awesome.. watch for a review soon!) and my newly labeled 3-drawer containers.  :)

Moving along the side of the room...
Most of this has been seen before in previous posts.  The 4 little purple tubs hold my 4 colors of post-it notes for the posters hanging around the room.  You can also see my stack of copy shop orders and the twitter strips :)

The front corner...
This is the teacher corner.  I almost didn't add this photo because it shows the mess that still needs to be organized on Monday.  :)

My desk area in general:
More to be organized!  Sometimes my desk just isn't big enough, so I pull 2 (or more) student desks up to give me more space.  Here you can see my new bulletin board border on the whiteboard.  I love black/white patterns!  By the time I left school about 45 minutes later, my desk was mostly cleaned off :)

The front board by my desk...
Here you can see another one of the posters for data gathering, plus my new goal of posting a "Quote of the Day".  I am inspired by @cheesemonkeysf, @mathequalslove, and @gwaddelnvhs to post quotes to motivate and inspire.

The rest of the room...
The only new addition to my room over here is the poster that I found on pinterest last week and hubby recreated.  :)

Two of my favorite items in the room...
These two quotes are the most important ones for me this year.  The frame shows my "theme" for the year... to have the kids DO more and to have me TALK less!  The binder quote reminds me to have fun every day... we're gonna party this year!  Thanks so much to @mathymeg07 for my most awesome vinyl cutout for my binder!

Thank you for visiting my classroom!  I hope you enjoyed your stay :)

  3. Your room is beautiful and inspiring! Having seen it in its "before" state, I am even more in love with the way you weave in design and other messages. My only problem is, I can't find the "mess" you refer to in the "teacher's area" section of this post. You would probably have to circle what you consider "messy" in bright yellow so I could pick it out.

    I also LOVE the ladybug!
